Yesterday i went to a little lake to practice for a little jackpot this morning. I was fishing along and bam im hung up. I grab my lure retriever thats hooked on to a cutoff rod and old reel. As im working my retriever some excess slack gets hung around a rod and next time i jerk rod overboard. Im almost in tears as i watch my g loomis nrx and revo stx sink.i immediately grab my buoy and toss it and mark a waypoint. What to do? Ive got an old golf ball retriever in my rodbox with a coat hanger on it only problem is it wont touch bottom. Ive got some spare trebles but my rods on a brushpile so that wont work. I remembered hearing you could drag an old metal stringer with the stringers open but i dont have one. I got to thinking what if i tie on an old a-rig an open the swivels up and drag it. Well after about an hour of trying i got a lucky cast and brought her to surface. Im glad it worked. I was almost to the point of calling a buddy to come watch while i tried my hand at diving in. Couple of cast later i catch this fat girl. 6-13 and the biggest ive caught out of my boat. After that i decided i need to save some luck so i head on in.
Nah thats a brewer special. I just cant figure ludwig out i live 1 minute from it and i barely fish it maybe once every 2 months. I see some big ones come out of there though
