hey guys i bought a 2011 puma ftd 250 proxs but it doesnt have a hyd jackplate or smart or nexsys gauges and i want both so first if i get a 8"detwiler hyd plate would u suggest an exacta dial or lever w/gauge.i kinda like the idea of the dial and if i get the dial is there a number in calm water u think works best and another for rough water to give me a starting point or does it depend on how the plate and motor is mounted or is there only one way to mount it so numbers would be good or close for everyboat using this plate.as for the gauges id like to monitor my motor and this boat has analog beede gauges so im thinking of adding an ecoscreen mercmonitor level 1 kit for about $600 plus labor in the speedo hole or maybe if not too expensive switching to all nexsyslink gauges or smartcraft gauges what do u guys think i sent this to phil cause we all know he is the man but i figure as many comments as i can get wont hurt my decision thx very much and happy new year to all

We would just install the MercMonitor gauge and not the full suite. Why do you feel you need a hydraulic plate? BCB does not suggest the Exactdial either.

do u mean the little 2 1/2 square gauge or the eco screen,and im thinking the hyd plate cause i was thinking i could lower it when it get rough and my home lake is usually always very rough but then i sometimes fish another lake that gets pretty skinny and would help get on plane in shallow water but ive never had a hyd plate so maybe im over thinking the plate thing and why dont you guys like the dial thx for your input Last edited by goch702 on December 30th, 2012, 4:39 am, edited 2 times in total.
