Jackplate question

Have a 1991 pII with a 1991 merc 200. The motor has been rebuilt with around 20 hours on it since. Had my mechanic put on a new prop a trophy 24p 4 blade and since it really struggles to get on plane. Just wondering what my pad to prop should be. It was set about 5" and with it being manual kind of wanted a rough ball park before I put it back in the water. Thanks

One, why the change of props? Why not put what you had if it ran well?

Two, start at 3.5″prop to pad and work up and down from there.
