Jackplate setback and make recomended

I just got a 2007 Pantera Iv with a Mercury 200 HP optimax. 2 questions....#1= what is the best setback for the jack plate to make it run best...6" or 8"#2= what make/model of jackplate is best for mounting a 10 Talon to it ? This is my 1st Bass Cat and im really happy to be part of the Bass Cat family !!!

Im not sure but I think you can go to 8 in on a 2007 model and not have any warranty problems. I am guessing you have a manual jackplate on the P 4 now and want to go to hydraulic.From what Ive seen, and people Ive talked to, Bobs jackplate would be my choice. My brother is using a Bobs on his 2016 Puma and just installed 2 of the Talons on his rig.Ive got an older boat that I put a Detwiler on so my info is from other sources.

Main issue is that its a 6 bolt BCB approved plate. Cant bolt a standard 4 bolt plate on and retain the warranty.
