I saw one that was LOADED with a 300 they had on display at a tournament last year that had $82,700 on it best I remember. If if had every bell and whistle and probably a month-long fishing guide service from Ike himself. The troller would link up to the GPS, 2 power poles, HDS 12 in dash and a dual setup on the bow, they were 10s I think, but maybe 12s.Sweet rig no doubt, this was before I bought mine and I was just looking but I was on a beer budget and that was the finest of the champagne available to me anyway.I dont think they would have turned $80,000 down, I assume dealer cost would be about $74-75 on a model that retails $82-83 but thats just my educated guess. In vehicles you could figure 8-14% depending on model and options. The more options the more markup usually. Again this is off of memory and educated guessing. Its a moving number because of equipment. Your probably between $80 to $90k with solid electronics. Poles add about $5,000 MSRP as you probably know, and electronics can bring a number between $5,000 and $10,000 onto the boat price. Then you have Digital Hot Foot, SeaStar or Atlas hydraulic plate, Wheels & Tires, Sunbrella Cover, Added Dual Console (DC) that all effect the number. Add other whistles and bells and you can dress it up more than Lady Gaga which all effects the number. On most rigs you are close in price tag. Though we have built a few this model year that had almost everything imaginable.
WOW….I remember how much fun it was to pick n choose what I wanted when I ordered mine in 2000 (or maybe 99). Had money back then. Almost top of line everything on the rig (some stuff I waited and installed myself). It was a great experience to be able to do so without concern of price. Mine was around 38K. And that was a boat load of money for bass rig then. Still love it today.BassCat is the best…Thanks
bassjax,The standard of upper top of the line today has changed since we introduced the Cougar FTD in 2003 model year. Then we had LMS 15 Lowrances with black and white screens. When we installed what was then a big screen unit it was a 7″ or 8″ screen. In 2002 we sold limited GPS receivers and went immediately to the largest OEM installer of GPS and 15 or LMS 16 units. It came on quick in just 10 years to where it is today. Technology and features have more than quadrupled the cost of a boat accessory today. The 2003 Cougar FTD had the option of SmartCraft gauges also a first. We have come from them being unavailable to most very boat having a SmartCraft setup or similar BRP and Yamaha gauges, plus some having two LCRs and linking to NMEA 2000 feeds. The Pantera II of 1995 probably best compares to todays Pantera II, and even then you have Direct Injection 200 Pro XS or four stroke Yamaha on most. Back in those days it was EFI 2.5 Mercs or 200 Carb engines from Yamaha. Everything else other than LCRs was very similar to today and the price tag is not that much more when compared to where they were then. Plus your getting the newer All Fiberglass construction today, which eliminated the concerns products has as they aged then. And when you compare any vehicle to a 1995 Pantera II and their 1995 to 2016 F150 or Chevrolet Silverado today, they fail somewhat in value. The boats we competed with the last year Bassmaster had a 150 HP limit are still very affordable today. And in 1993 to 1996 we did sell over 80% of those 19 models with 200 engines.
I love reading these kind of posts. It makes me want to go down in the garage and give the Ole 93 P2 a big smooch and rub on her a little bit.
Preacherboy whats awesome is your 1993 as long as waxed prolly looks Killer and Shiny, where most 1993 glass boats look like hell, hazy, can see blems coming out, etc…..I love the Older BCBs, when buffed and Massaged they look Killer……
I agree. Also most older CATS are sill solid as a rock while competitors of the same age will be mostly found in the graveyard. Quality really does go a long way. Sure, you might be able to buy a cheaper boat, but then again you get what you pay for. Just dont forget they all look good when brand new. Not knocking any particular brand, just sayin.
The best thing about my 2 cats, is that they are paid for! I looked real hard at a Jag a couple of years ago, but decided I would go for a smaller second cat 07 Phelix for shallow river and backwater use, and keep the Pantera III for lakes and long runs.
the more expensive the new ones, the better the second hand market gets. I was thinking of selling mine and I still may but I should have “NO” issue getting rid of my 09 Puma FTD
