This is a 50/50 situation. Health care is an issue and we all know that. And we also have a good amount of Mexican, Japanese, Canadian, Australian and other readers of this forum. So one must be aware more countries are represented here. We try to defer on the political statements on the board, though we may make a post as such, we really have tried to be non political. There is much to this, health care, Afghanistan, Iraq, Libya, Somalia, Stimulus packages, Cap & Trade, Gun Control, Water Access Rights and much, much more. We had just discussed here whether or not to share our joint view internally. Though we have been hesitant to open that can or opinion. Then we find this post after licking one earlier today. In 1763 Taxation began upon the Colonies and led to the Boston Tea Party, eventually the uprising and Revolution which created our America. Now we find ourselves in a similar conundrum from internal developments. In 1776 we revolted and officially filed for Independence. Through the Emancipation Proclamation, Articles of the Constitution, the Constitution and Etc..American is what America becomes. We must act to have a referendum to overturn any legislation, and only then are our true wishes represented. Can we so act and can any movement gain the power over our country that we may have lost. To have such a referendum is unlikely, not undo-able though difficult to organize and execute such an activity. Or is this the country, America, we have now and are those views of majority so represented in the actions of Congress and Presidential office. Soon we shall know what our America has become. People have now seen both parties movements and now have fully become aware of the actions of each toward governing our society. President Bush came in from Clinton with a .com financial meltdown climaxing in the spring of 2000. President Obama came in with the present financial meltdown climaxing in the fall and March of 2009. We never really found bottom after 2000 as 911, Katrina, Rita, Ike, Oil prices, Housing Crisis, Sally Mae, Fannie Mae & Freddie Mac, AIG, Lehman and more took hold. Then we had GM, Chrysler and more shock waves! We have not forgotten 911, though many voting age teens, some soldiers, were but 9 years old then. Afghanistan was for a cause and was just. We forget that this was the second foreign attempt in our country and had we taken a former opportunity to squelch a threat under a former President we may not have faced 911 as we know it. Had the order to extricate the threat been given. In the next election we will learn what America we have now. Will it be an America of uprising, one of values of past, a turn to a broader melting pot than we have previously accepted. Or will we see a totally different America? One where the mixed race and ethnic culture, of the populated cities in our country, dictate the much larger and less populated views of the geographic land mass, controlled by the minority of votes, as expressed in the last election. This is but a threshold and we are anxious to see what the falls of 2010 and 2012 bring. Which America are we?Last edited by Bass Cat Boats on March 22nd, 2010, 8:59 pm, edited 1 time in total.
