Need all the help I can get on catching fish at Lake Catherine. Its such a pretty lake seems you could catch one on every other cast. Reality is I seem to get skunked more times than not. I keep going back, thinking Ill figure it out, cause its so close to my house. Any pointers appreciated.....Bill....
There are no fish in Catherine, period. I spent a day with one of the best fishermen in Arkansas on Catherine recently, and very few were caught,,,,,,,,, if i had to fish there it would be for trout !
Try around the docks. I havent fished it a lot, but everytime Ive caught a few with a senko, dropshot or shakey head around the docks. The fish I caught were almost always fat spots.John
That lake is just tough to fish regardless. I went there last Sunday and believe it or not, caught about a 2lb walleye on a sweet beaver. I fished mainly the small coves and around docks. I had a few bites in the longer coves past Spencer Bay. Saw one guy out in the middle between Spencer Bay and the state park area, appeared to be deep cranking, but not sure how he did. That was my idea to fish there because its close, but I think I could get to Degray in about the same time and have better luck.
Glad Im not the only one that has a hard time on Catherine. Seems like if the lake gives up some fish its still tough and you work hard for the few you get. No wonder when I launch theres me and maybe, maybe one other poor schmuck out there beating the old proverbial wall.
