Latest BCB Product…2008 item, not boats

The latest product we are introducing is a new products line of BCB Rods. There are eleven different models available at this time. Not every aspect is going to be available, and mid flex and above are all we are going to handle. These are all numbered with individual serial numbers. They are BCB labeled and Fuji components. The guides are Fuji Alconite Concept, and the open handle is Fuji blank through with Grade 1 Portuguese Cork, 55,000,000 modulus back bone stiffner with a 33,000,000 (million) modulus tip structure. The blanks have been made to BCB specs' with mandrels. These are not shelf blanks, they are custom mandrels and winding. We have enjoyed a fantastic affiliation with many rod companies in the fishing industry. They make some good stuff, though back about a year ago we saw a change in the marketing of rods, Chinese production and more. We continue to have the utmost respect for Falcon, American Rodsmith, Castaway, Powell and others. Though as we saw the changes in marketing, production and more. We decided that improvements could be made and a USA product could continue to be available. So we moved forward! And here is an image of our first production rods.

Pricing is compatable with most mid level rods, and these are high quality sticks. No doubt, just as with our boats, we will continue to tweak these as we move ahead. These are Tournament Grade Rods. There are a few of the original prototypes out which have been in testing for several months. A few limited individuals have received one recently after we finished our work with those prototypes. Sorry Deke, we did not build a rod like you desire, because there are few who know they need it, so it is a limited production item. We know exactly what you need, and you are right in it's use. The Hypalon handles are the style you are inquiring about. These we have no thoughts of doing at this time.

Perhaps if demand creeped up on that style, though cork tends to be lighter.

Can you get 7 MH? Pretty standard size and power (not cranking rod) for worms, jigs, etc. I am ready to place an order when you get this. If not, no problem.

I’ve got one of the 7 foot MH and have been very impressed. It is designed as a blade rod, so it is not as heavy as I would want for worm and jigs.

It would be great for a light worm or finesse jig.

I have an old burgundy & black Team Daiwa 6′ topwater rod with the black foam in a pistol grip that I bought about 20 years ago and still use to this day. It’s from the exact same PowerMesh line as the Tony Bean smallmouth rod I mentioned above, though it was cork handled. If that’s the same ones you’re talking you’re right, they were some awesome rods.

You might try using a handle wrap to achieve the same effect.

Are you sure about that price for the TD Tony Bean smallmouth rod? I just checked and I have a retired one hanging on my garage wall that is a 9 out of 10.(if I scruubed up the handle 9.5) Am I sitting on a gold mine?

Yes sir…I never would have sold mine except I saw one before mine go for that much. So I then saw a ‘want it now’ post on ebay for one and I contacted the guy through ebay that I put mine up for auction. I even stated that the cork had split and been reglued. He said hbe didn’t care. I soon got several requests for a ‘buy it now’ but left it up for auction. Amazingly it went for $167 + $15 shipping. And the guy was tickled to death to get it!
I think there’s still a ‘want it now’ out there now too.
