I have done this several times, and here is what I do.1. Disconnect the 3 plugs at the back of the unit, and pull them down slightly, so you can get to them.2. You have 4 small nuts to remove, with a washer and a star lock washer behind each one.I bought a deep well (the long tube) 1/4 inch socket, which fits the nuts. I use my hand and the socket to break each nut loose, and then spend them off by hand.I tilt the steering wheel up, sit in the drivers seat, and work blind, with my right hand. I just reverse the process to install the new unit. Go easy on the silicone—you dont need a bunch, if you put the washers and star washers back. When I put the nuts back on, I snug them up by hand, and then cinch down the nut by hand, using the socket tube.Works good for me, Mike Whitten/Germantown, TN
