Hi. I just recently sold my Ranger 520 vx. I was looking to downsize to a smaller boat. And, from doing my research, it looks like the PII is the way to go. I did speak to Scott at Brech Marine in Selma, Alabama. And, it appears the promo deal going with the PII is a great plan. We “built” a boat over the phone that included the SHO 200, Hambys, dual axle trailer, Fortrex 80 pound trust, blinker trim and hotfoot. I will upgrade the electronics. So, I will not have the ones mounted that BCB is offering with the package. Can you experienced BCBers help me with anything else I may need to add? I am getting a single console. I have no idea as to what guages are standard. Or, if there is gauges that I need to add. Just a brief history, Ive always owned Rangers. I live next to West Point Lake in Georgia. And, for the 5 lakes I fish, I feel a smaller boat would pose no problem. I have owned several types of Ranger boats. So, I am very familiar with the different types i.e. Z series, VX series…… I have no clue where the PII rates in the BCB family. I did notice other 19 boats offered. But, I felt the PII was right for me. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!Richey
IF you would like to run/see a PII prior to purchase, I live 10 minutes away from the south end of Lake Harding (Bartletts Ferry) on the AL side. I would be willing to meet you, and let you run mine. It has a 200 Pro XS, but you would still be able to get an idea. If interested, you can email me at . BassCat is the only boat I have run that I would consider giving a potential buyer this offer to. I am extremely well satisfied with the PII. It fishes and handles extremely well.Best Regards,Carky FreemanLast edited by cef1965 on March 30th, 2011, 5:25 pm, edited 1 time in total.
Mr. Freeman….. I will actually take you up on this offer. BTW, Bartletts is what I consider my “home” lake. And, for your kindness, I will share several locations that I have planted PVC pipes that are shaped like large “button bushes” all over the lake. I fish between 30 – 40 tourneys on Bartletts every year. I will shoot you an e mail. Im not sure what you schedule looks like. Im in sales. And, the area you live in is actually my sales territory. I am available 7 days a week to meet up with you. The only problem I see is, with all the rain we have had, Im sure the wonderful floaters are heading straight down the hooch as we speak. BTW my e mail address is ]Thanks again!!!!!!!!!!!!Richey
Calling me Mr. Freeman is about like having running water in an outhouse. Please call me Carky. BTW, check your email.Carky
Not to change your mind about the P2 but I would give a hard look at the P4 also. Either one your going to be satisfied with and purchasing a Basscat.
Get the front step and grab pole.

Either one your going to be satisfied with and purchasing a Basscat.PII, is good, as far as Ive seen, but I have to say that my PIV is the cats meow (pun fully intended as it was told to me when I bought her). The extra deck space between the PII and the Pantera Classic vs. the PIV is big for me. However, the only drawback is a smaller ice box. But really, who needs an ice box when you have all that room for tackle?- Chaz
The P II is gonna be faster, a little smaller, and the P 4 will have a better rough water ride, but the P II does fine on rough water also. The Pantera classic, and P II are the sports cars of the 19 foot boats, and do well in shallow water with stumps. I think youll like the P II fine, but if you fish alot of rough water the P4 may be a better option. Go ahead and put the electronics you want on it its easier to do it now rather than later. Also Power Poles are really nice if you fish where you can use them. A hydraulic jackplate is great in shallow or rough water, and make playing with your setup easy. Think about a hotfoot too, there are alot of different opinions on them, I personally think they should be standard equipment on a bass boat.
Richey, If you have an questions that dont get answered here or by Scott, then by all means give the factory a call and they will walk you through the answer. We appreciate the look at our product and we hope that you find a Pantera II to suit your downsize needs. It is what we feel to be the perfect overall boat size from big water to performance it does great. Fuel mileage too will improve from most any other hull. Thanks! BCB
I would absolutely add the R&R battery trays, pro air and second bilge without question. I would also add Hydraulic plate(personal preference), hotfoot (personal preference) and second rod organizer (these are glassed in as the boat is built and tough to add one later- so get it up front unless it is really in the way).
