LESTER CHARGERS?

The LESTER CHGRS talked about in a previous post–How do they hook up to the 36 volt system? Does it charge through the trl mtr plug or do you charge each individual battery?Does BCB sell these chargers?SAMBAYOU BANDIT

It does plug into the front panel, or you can run a plug out the rear to the master charger plug that comes on the unit. These plugs are the same as a golf cart plug, so if you have a golf cart charger, you may already have what you need. They are able to either be plugged into the front panel, or our the rear again! BCB does carry these chargers and offers them on new boats as an option. BCB

Do the ones you sell come with the right plugin for the front?Does the existing on board charger have to be disconnected?Does it work for sealed OPTIMA batteries?I use 4 batteries, but only three for the trl mtr>BAYOU BANDIT

We would not suggest the Lester Charger on Optima as they have no gassing and the specific gravity in the battery functions differently than a lead acid battery. We do have the plugs for either installation. The present system does not have to be disconnected, though you will need to 12 volt charge the cranking battery separately.BCB

We dont stock the automatic models, we use the ones with a timer and they shut off at the setting. We do stock those models in 24 and 36 volts. The chargers can be kept for later boats if you stick to either a 24 or 36 system on the next boat.BCB

The best I can tell from the lester sight you are referring to model 0961 for 36 volt applications, or is it the 14100? Also what plug option do you carry?

Sorry, we have not made our way to those numbers yet. The reason we went Timed instead of Auto is the simplicity of those chargers. We have used the Timed models for years without issues. They are simple and shut off totally. They still have a reduction also.BCB
