Took the PIV out for the second time. Last week I left the live well valve in the empty position to keep water out as I planned to fish on a catch and release lake only. On Saturday after a good top water bite fell off late in the morning we decided to catch some crappie for the evening meal. I left the valve in the empty position and pumped water in the well. After our first run across the lake all the water had run out. I filled it up again and this time I turned the valve to the auto/bilige position. When we ran this time all the water had run out again. I filled it up for the thrid time before we put the boat on the trailer. When we pulled the boat out of the water the live wells would drain no matter what position the valve was in. I thought if water would not flow into the wells in the empty position it would not allow it to escape either. What do I need to do to keep the water in the wells once I fill them up?
There is a small detent on the Auto setting. They will drain on Empty, though on Auto make sure you go that last little 3/8″ and past the detent you should feel. This may help you. http://basscatowners.yuku.com/topic/2134
That was it. I just wasnt turning it past that detent. I was stopping it when it felt like it had come to a stop. Thanks for the link as well. I figured out the timing sequence using the livewells this weekend.
Take a peek at your livewell drain valve in the bilge area. The cable might be able to be routed better with no restiction and/or the white arm on the valve, maybe hitting the bilge wall when moving. Had that issue on my 06 P4.
