If you were fishing slack summer time oxbows, or off river areas. You could keep the livewell water from the main river in your well. Turn off the aearator and turn on only the recirculation. Then your water would remain a higher quality, and cooler.
Backwater can reach 100 degrees, while often main rivers are in the upper 80’s to 90 degree range. The water warming slightly will not shock the fish, though dump 100 degree water on top of a mid 80’s fish, and you have a bad situation.
It also is a nice backup system for your wells.
