Livewell capacity

BCB doesnt advertise livewell specs. Some manufacturers boast 50 gallon livewells but its hard to picture a 55 gallon drum under the back deck.

They are correct as live wells on some competitors boats are much smaller than advertised. BCB has always been among if not the largest in the industry. They are not 50 gallons below the overflow. Grrs mention is a reference BCB staff uses when someone mentions brand Y has 50 gallon livewells. The question is do they look like, or picture a 55 gallon drum on the back deck.

You might try filling your livewell with 5 gallon buckets of water to get an approximate amount if youre interested in knowing.

Thanks I have an idea what it is. Didnt know that was so controversial. Im just working on a project for my Cougar.

If its weight youre concerned about??? 1 Gallon water = 8 Lbs.Whatever you got in the wells, figure that, rather close!!

You can approximate your gallons by using this formula (measurements in feet): L x W x D= cubic feet of water. Multiply your cubic feet x 7.47 and this will give the gallons if you are wanting to know. This is only approximate since there is a sump in the live well bottom.

I filled mine up and let it run down until no water was coming out overflow. I caught all the water in a 5 gallon bucket when I drained it. It was right around 30 gallons. I started second guessing myself on counting number of times I dumped bucket. It was either 5 or 6 full buckets and part of another.
