There are no adjustments to make. It is either open or closed. If it leaks water then a new valve is needed. If tou want to remove the cable and there is no room then you may have to remove the screws holding rhe valve in place and disconnecting the hoses first.
It can be a loose cable clamp and require tightening of the cable onto the valve, with the jacket slipping. This may require unlocking the valve from the U bracket.

The valve has only two positions but the cable needs to be installed properly. If you need to get to the valve it is held in by a large “nut” that is tightened onto a U-bracket that is mounted to the floor of the bilge. A large pair of channel locks will loosen the nut so that you can lift the valve up for adjustment or repair.Hope this helps you.
