Sorry buddy, yes everything gets a little more difficult as we get older. I am with you! I don’t know about the 19″ to top, but while the vehicle and trailer is on a flat road make sure your trailer is at least level or slightly rising to the hitch. Past that, it is all about finding the sweet spot on the ramp depth.

We tend to keep deepening the trailer when we need them shallower. There’s an old video somewhere on this board, of a consumer loading a Sabre on the Alabama River. It was just filmed and not staged. He just happened to be loading when it was shot.

When I first got my P2 last year it took a little bit to find the sweet spot, but my first few times I was definitely putting the trailer in too deep.  The reason you are often times landing the nose low (below the roller or latch) is cause the hull isn’t riding up on the front edge of the long bunks.  I find that if I wet the bunks and then have it so about 3″ of the shorter bunks are out of the water, I can pull in, let the boat settle on the bunks, straighten out the motor, bump the throttle and it pulls right up to the bow eye at the roller.  Once I figured it out, it is super easy to load.

tdobb is spot on, at least in my opinion.  I’ve loaded Cougar FTd’s, a Baycat and now my Caracal.  On all three models, if I put the trailer in with 2-3″ of the outside bunks out of the water, the boats load fine. (almost no matter how steep the ramp is).

I’m with Billius.  Outside bunks are key.  To just out of water to 2-4″ out of water works best.  If it’s windy, you will find having bunks out a little further will stabilize boat and be easier to load.   I’ve had a old version of the Classic and now at Caracal.  Same rules applied.  Caracal is actually a dream to load.
