Loose Seats – Seat Pan Repair Pics

This following is my seat pan repair I did on my early model 2012 P-II. I would rate the task as easy and can be done with one person. The Repair Kit that Bass Cat Parts provides has everything you need. I hope the pictures helps other understand the project before they dig into it. If your experiencing loose seats most likely the insert has pulled out from the seat pan as shown below.     Pull up your seat bottoms to expose the screws. There will be 2 screws through the seat bottom and 2 through the seat backs.       Remove all the seat pan screws - The black decorative caps will pop right off.       Pull out the seat pan and place on saw horses right side up. Using a 6mm hex wrench remove the 4 seat inserts by screwing them out. Then place tape over the 4 holes     Flip the seat pan upside down.     Using the sandpaper provided in the kit, or an air sander sand the locations where the insert holes are. Sand them large enough so that the fiberglass blocks provided in the kit will easily fit. Sanding will help for a better bond.     The kit will come with 4 blocks, some resin and hardner.     Using a putty knife and piece of cardboard mix the resin and hardener together thoroughly.     Butter a fiberglass block and place over the hole where the insert goes. Then repeat for each block.     Let resin cure for 1 to 2 hours at around 70F.     I used this time to clean under the seat pan.     Flip the seat over and drill using a 25/64 bit all the way through the seat pan.Drill where the resin plug is.     Using a 6mm hex wrench reinstall the new inserts provided in the kit. Repeat process to all 4 holes. The fiberglass is now much thicker now and the inserts will hold better.     Clean everything up!     Reinstall seat pan in boat and screw all screws tight.     Place seats back in. Make sure you use the the new seat screws BCB provided. These will be shorter. The original screws are too long and they rub the fuel tank. Its probably best you inspect for this while you have the seat pan off.       After all screws are back in you're done and ready for the water!
