Lou’s motor toter

I bought the adjustable Lou’s motor toter through the parts store. After setting the length to match the motor angle I was used to with the previous lock n stow, the “cup” bushings were not sitting even on the motor face. To get the bushings to sit flat, I needed to extend the length quite a bit further to the last hole only allowing for one bolt to be installed through the adjustment holes. Questions - is this typical? Is the higher motor angle an issue? Should I drill an extra hole to allow installing the second bolt? This is on a 2003 cougar Ftd with 6” slidemaster. One other issue I am not really happy with is the motor angle changes the way my Aurora cover fits and ends up less of a “custom” tight fit. I can deal with this because I rarely trailer with the cover on. I just expected the custom fab’d toter to fit a little better than it does.
