Lowrance front 102c

My front graph keeps losing power.Itll be working fine,pick up the trolling motor and move to a new area and the power will be off on the graph.Cut it back on and it works fine.Doesnt do it all the time,probably about half the time. Pain in the rear having to constanly cut the unit back on.Any suggestions on what to look at.Ive checked the plug ins at the back of the unit.They seem fine.

Sounds like a problem that I had on my first Puma. I had a 36 volt motorguide trolling motor with the three battery set up. After my batteries were almost two years old, when I would crank the 225 pro xs, the front graph would turn off due to voltage drop. It is designed to do this. How old are your batteries? My new Puma has a four battery set up. Time will tell if this solves the problem. Hope this helps. BP

Mines an 06 Puma. Im running 3 batteries but a straight 24 Motorguide.I think my batteries are in pretty good shape though.I havent really noticed at what point it cuts off. May be when Im cranking the Merc., dont know. Thanks

I had this same issue on my 05 Puma. What I did to fix it was to get a better connection between the unit and the power source it used. If you remove the front Trim/Acc/light plate you will see that the power for you fron unit is drawn from the Acc. switch. After looking at mine I noticed that there were 2 different wires that stepped down in size from the switch to the actual power wire that went to the unit. I cut out the other wire and connector and ran the power wire straight to the back of the Acc. switch. This gave it a better connection and solved my problem. First thing I would do is go into the settings on your 102c and display the volts on the screen. Menu / Overlay data / volts Check to see what they are at before you redo the wiring and than after you have done it. Good luck Jamey

Bad connection or bad power source is more than likely your problem.

Mine was set up with a in line fuse holder, and this issue drove me crazy sometime it wouldnt even turn back on then two minutes later hit the button and on it would come. The spring in the fuse holder was not applying enough pressure against the fuse and when bouncing around would shut the unit down next the pressure was light enough that sometime when you went to turn it on the amps were to high for the connection and it wouldnt come on this has happened twice in 4 yrs with two different units, I finally just hardwired the thing and through the fuse holder away. What a pain to be in a Tourney and have the thing not come on for several minutes once you stop, push the button, no, try again in a minute or so and on an on.

Mine does it on an 06 Puma. I have just gotten used to turning it back on. It has to be the wire like Jamey said, cause they sent me a brand new one for a button being stuck and it did it too.

Jamie, The voltage was 11.1, Rewired at acc switch without the splices and voltage is now 12.1. Hope this fixes the problem.Thanks alot. Doug
