Yes it can be done, Ive done it for customers.. Most have told me afterwards it isnt worth it and that it doesnt work all that well.. The problem is that when you turn/steer your TM it will screw up, blur the picture.

If youre getting a 7 or 9 touch, consider the spotlight transducer. Ive installed three or four of them. Has a NMEA connection connection to the DF for a sensor under the footpedal. I love my HDI transducer on the front with my touch 7. I get supperior sonar, and Downs Scan right from the front. If I ever want side scan while im on the trolling motor, I network to my LSS2 on the back of the boat. Yes its 20 feet behind you, but you dont have to deal with interference or slop from the trolling motor. If i see something i want to go back and fish, I just drop a wpt right on the structure, spin around and line up with my Point-1 GPS. Its a sweet system.
