Navionics on mine!

Thanks Chuck, that’s what I was thinking. But which one exactly. I had been told the Navionics plus USA and Canada. However, when I look at the Navionics site, I am struggling with finding that exact one.

I’m not sure as to whether I need the Navionics+ Marine and Lakes or the HotMaps Platinum Lakes.

Map cards are a matter of choice and today we have several options. The base maps on existing new units and either Hot Maps or Navionics Plus, the Platinum is not Lake loaded.  Look at the features for the way you fish and select the terrain marking and icons that fit the style. They both function and appear differently.

 

Then you have an entirely new set of questions with HumminBird.

I was confused on what Navionics product to buy and the Navionics Moderator at BBC had this answer for me. Question was what is the difference between Navionics + and Hotmaps premium. Same price for Navionics + US and Canada and Hotmaps premium southeast or other region. Copy and pasted.

The Hotmaps Platinum has Satellite Overlay, 3D function, Port Photos and Community Edits. All that additional stuff takes up memory space.

Both the Hotmap Platinum and Navionics+ products have Nautical Charts (Navionics maps) and Sonar Charts ( user sonar log generated maps).
Bottom line is the map details are identical if updated the same .

I understand it is a matter of choice, I just couldn’t figure out an advantage of the Hotmaps versus the Navionics+.  It was about the same money, I was trying to see if anyone had regrets about buying one versus the other. I ended up getting the Navionics+ card this evening. Looks like it will do just fine.

Don’t let the “experts” confuse you. Depending on where you live just get the north, south or east or west map card. Should have all the lakes as well as POI’s in your area … in detail.
