LOZ This Morning – pics are up…

Hit the water around 6:45am, ran to my first stop, and on the second cast she bit...Length 23.5in, girth 16.5in... Didnt want to fit in the divided Classic live-well. For those who fish LOZ, I caught it one dock over from the floating house in Linn Creek.

Nice fish! Is that the floating house in the second pic?I have been doing pretty good on point docks w/black berkley power worm.I brought home a cooler of nice white & hybrid bass slabs.I love that dumb lake! Where I am at I get to see the conservation police haul em off…

A great LOZ fish in this heat. Im catching some nice ones fishing the deep shad schools in mid channel at the 13 mm. The cruiser traffic is almost non existent in 100 degree heat.

Unfortunally, they still head for the party cove on weekends. Booze, sun, and heat, cooks their brain. Water Patrol sits in the north-east side coves of the no wake zone (out of sight). I shouldnt laugh at the kids getting picked up, but then again, I am going to laugh.Ive seen some pretty funny stuff…I caught the whites/ hybrids same way. Off shore. Locate deep shad schools and you got em.

I had to get my wife out of bed and come down to our slip to take the pictures…I practice CPR (Catch, Photograph and Release) She was a little stressed so I let her stabilize in the livewell first (the fish, not my wife, Nancy)!

Locate deep shad schools and you got em.Sadly, Linn Creek Cove is turning into another Party Cove. The boat traffic on weekends is really getting heavy; Tues-Thur is when we go out for a few hours. I cant see worth a hoot at night anymore, so that limits me in the summer. Still, its great living in paradise at LOZ…

In the eary 80s, I drove a 16ft Polar Kraft w/40 Johnson from the state park (Robins Resort) to Linn Creek.I dare anyone try that now. I used to think 40 was a big motor.The lake is amazing fishery. Still.
