Margay and the Pantera Classic

I am interested in the margay or the Pantera Classic. Has anyone seen much on the Margay speed, how they like it on the water, etc? Does anyone have a classic I was curious on how it fished with the smaller decks and the higher sides verses the P2? Im trying to make up my mind which boat I want. I currently have a P2 im selling and trying to get into something cheaper. Thanks in advance for any advice

I had the original Sabre with deck extension had had no challenges. If you add the deck extension to the Classic it really expands the deck size. Cost I think is $300 plus. Classic will be noticeably faster with a 200HP motor. Two great boats to choose from. Good luck!

If cost isnt an issue, The Classic is definately the way to go between these choices. I saw a Margay at the KC boat show and would only pick this boat if I could not afford any other Bass model in the BCB line-up. You should check out the Sabre or Sabre FTD as well. Hope this helps, John

Depending on set-up the Margay should be a mid to upper 60s rig,,,,also depending on the driver !The only one i know who has realy run one is K-Pink. Maybe he can chime in ?Also for consideration,,,, The new Mercury 150 4 banger would make a GREAT engine on either the Classic or Margay ! It is suppose to be a real runner !

I put the extension deck in my Classic, big difference in both fishing space as well as gaining some storage space. Very quick boat in the right hands. Lot of fun too…..

Also, I think on the SabreFTD was running WOT and smelling 70 with that motor….. BassCat has the numbers. I know someone in Demopolis, AL who is pushing his 2011 Classic with 175HPDI 68-69 on the GPS winter time temps. So pick your motor there are plenty of motor power options (Evinrude/Merc/Yamaha/Honda/Suzuki) for either boat and your best decision is making sure you have a BassCat boat to fish out of. Keep us posted.

Split the difference and buy the Sabre with 175. Cant go wrong with all three.golfen
