Danny, You definately need to check the weight capacity listed on the plates. I have a standard Sabre rated at 4 persons 550 lbs. a friend has a P Classic I think it is 4 persons 650 lbs. Hope that helps, John

It was hard to fish 3 out of my sabre with one being my 6 year old..I would look at a used cougar or puma if you are going to fish 4 with any regularity. Just my 2cents

The size of a Margay will surprise you. The front deck will easily fish 2. And I would almost bet theres as much or more deck in a Margay than either Sabre model. Wife and 2 young boys will occupy some space a larger is better if youre looking for room. Though the Margay will work. Price wise……………depends on what all you put on it, but you probably could get one with 150 for mid 20s or so brand new. Good luck with your decision.

I fish 3 full-sized guys (all over 6 and 250 lbs) out of my Sabre most of the time. I do have the deck insert on the front. Having said that, if I was fishing four people with two being kids, I would not go smaller than a Pantera.

All good info and thanks so much! After reading this I know what the smart choice is, a dang deep v to keep them boys from falling out, lol. My 5 year old is a bull so it would be like have 10 people in a Margay, lol. Anyone know of any deep v AL boats that are any good? I know nothing about these type of boats but they do look comfortable for drowning minners with the wife and boys and they will actually fish with me alot so its the sensible thing to do at this point in life. Ill have to get a sabre later for my personal use and say no kids allowed, lol.ThanksDanny
