Mercmonitor question?

You must toggle the NMEA GPS output on inside the graph to send the signal to the monitor gauge. The dash component provides the signal from the receiver.

when you say toggle, you mean I will need a cable ran or in the settings of the graph itself. Sorry I’m not hip to all the new gadgets.

It’s an option inside the graph (chart) menus and it’s a button that you “toggle” and turn on the NMEA output. There are often two options and the NMEA 0186 should work fine and it’s set up for NMEA 2000 also.

Ok one last question from the second time cat owner first time new cat owner, which dash graph on the sabre or both, my new boat has one gen3 Helix 7 and one gen4 Helix 8, which if I have read it right from Hummingbird the gen4 is NMEA 2000 ready? I really tried to research this stuff before I ask silly questions but thank you for the great info!

We would turn the one on that has the NMEA and Ethernet cabling.

 

it won’t hurt to turn them both on, it just won’t be feeding anything.

Do you have a NMEA backbone installed?  Was it all networked by the dealer, factory or you?

It doesn’t require a NMEA backbone to function the speedometer inside the Merc Monitor. It’s an output wire from the chart to the Merc Monitor.

Yep worked like a charm! Side note must go to custom settings on a hummingbird to find the output setting. Helix 7 2022 Sabre  Thanks
