Missed the basscat ride

Ive been on water like that four times in my life, once on Big Sam, once on KY Lake, and twice on the Ohio River. Believe me, it is scary as heck, not just OK scary, but this could really be major scary. Mojorig, glad you made it just fine and thanks for sharing those terrific photos.

Wind on current…… BAD JUJU. If a recall correctly the older Elite circuit had a tourny out of Tunica, MS- a number of folks ran downriver to Whittington and beyond only to find wind on current for the ride home. If I also remember correctly one angler managed to disconnect his motor from the transom and ended up tying up to a river bouy until he could get picked up. [Bass Cat Boats]

We were behind an island about 5 miles or so from the ramp putting out nets and the wind was blowing about 15-20 mph then all a sudden the wind started blowing 40 or so from a different direction so we just got on that island to figure how we were going to get back to the ramp. We waited 15 min. or so and found a back channel that allowed us to cut the distance to the ramp in half and only have to run through 1 1/2 foot waves. So yea those pic were from an island.

You should have hung around another hour or so and got us some REALLY Large wave shots! Though we are sure you were ready to tuck tail and run quick! BCB

Jeremy, The AGFC does own some BCB boats,,,,maybe if you sent MA some of these photos hed let you use one of them for your safety ???? Surely you and your boss could persuade a couple of Cats outta the Commission !!! D. Just apply it to the “Save a Fisheries Biologist Fund”.

LOL that would be great to have but it would kill me when we throw an old slimmy catfish, paddlefish, or gar into the boat to get it out of our nights. I would be over there wiping the boat down and not getting any work done Well that week got even better, two days later it thunder sleeted on us. Talk about cold, running nets in 39 degree water, in barely above freezing air temp. but it is all worth it will the data we were collecting.
