My new 2017 Eyra

I just purchased a new 2017 Eyra from Sunset Marina 43. This boat is equiped with a Mercury 250,Altas Hydralic jack,2 Hummingbird Helix 10 and a MinnKota Fortrex. I would first like to comment on Sunset Marina. These folks there are great and went out of their way to help me with this transaction. First look at my new boat was breathtaking(I will add some pictures when I figure out how). I am extremely particular and went over this boat inch by inch and I have to say it is flawless. The finish, the fit, every detail I have been over and there is not one thing I can complain about. I have owned many boats over the years and I am amazed how many details there are on this Eyra and they are all clean and sharp. The trailer is a major jump up from my last boat also. It rides behind me like its not there. I just received the Sunbrella cover today. I was a little worried after reading a few of the posts, but they made changes on the new one to cover the buckle and the fit is perfect. Next is talk about the ride. It runs great, fast out of the hole and on plane. It is fast to accelerate. But it does chine and I am not quit used to that yet. I plan to take it easy for a while till I really get the feel for it. I am runing a 26pitch Fury. I have not been past 70 yet. When I get to about 68mph she chines. But like I said I will get used to her and learn. Wish I could make the user tournament,maybe next year! Dont need trim must past 1/4 to get full speed. Dont need jackplate past 2-4. Dont get crazy. It runs best lowC.O.D. Jr. III

Congrats on the new ride!Will take you a little time to get use to the trim. Just put it all the way down, get up on plane and get her up to about 4000rpm and start bumping the trim up a little at a time. I live in the North Florida area. Most of the time I am on the St. Johns river. I did just join the board. I waited a little while to get some time on my Eyra prior to making any comments, but I still feel I need a lot more seat time for top end. Other than that she drives like a very impressive race car. I am so used to trimming up on my old boat I cant beleive how little this one takes! When I am on the river the crab baskets are everywhere and they all have bouy marker that you have to dodge around. Its fun now with such a responsive ride.

I know Sunset is in Jackson I live a couple of hours from there was gonna try and see if you wanted to meet up. North Florida is a bit far tho! It just takes seat time dont over trim and take it slow. Youll get used to it!

Welcome to the BCB family! Give yourself time to learn to drive the Eyra. Get comfortable with it at speeds below 70. In time you will get her wide open bumping the 80 mph mark or better. It will become second nature driving the chine. The Eyra has been my favorite boat. It does everything well!

congrats and welcome to the family! I have a 2014 Eyra with a 225hp and absolutely love it!!!! It does take some seat time to get maximum performance out of it, which is about 74/75 on mine. I really only have drive mine when I go above 71 and honestly…..thats fast enough for me anyways. Like you, I love the nimbleness of the ride and the comfort of the ride in big waves.
