my trailer fender got clipped…

…at the ramp while parked last weekend. The damage is relatively minor…a crease down the side of lower back step, a small crack in the fiberglass, and some of the black plastic trim on the bottom is damaged. Does BCB do repairs like this, assuming it might be practical to unbolt the fender and ship it to Mountain Home? This was suggested as a possibility although I would guess that shipping a double-axle fender might be pretty costly. Otherwise, any suggestions for a good fiberglass repair shop near central MO? There are some fair shops in the lake area. You probably would be better off with a replacement than shipping it back and forth. A repair estimate is our first suggestion. Perhaps a digital image would be an easy way to get an estimate. That would save you some leg time. Call Dave Mungenast Yacht Club for their recommendation in the area on a glass repair. BCB

Trust me, it will be cheaper to order a new fender from Basscat. I had a tire throw the tread and damage mine a few years ago and it was cheaper and quicker to order a new one and install it. My replacement was a perfect match to the original one. If you insist on having it repaired you may want to check with Truman Fiberglass Repair just west of Clinton on hwy 7. They have my PII there for repairs to the bottom and I expect it to be perfect when it is returned to me. They have a good reputation for quality work…

Well, have been there and done that. A new fender is the way to go unless the damage is minor. This Saturday I had my truck broken into at the ramp. Tried to punch out the lock on drivers door and then busted the right rear window out. Glass everywhere. Stole my satellite radio, suitcase full of important stuff, Mercury Jacket, ect. About 3 grand worth of damage and stolen goods. Im about to invest in a good alarm system and a camera that will take pictures at 360 degrees when the alarm goes off.

I got violated at Goat Island Boat Ramp. I have a friend with a house 6 miles from the ramp and he said that he has been broken into twice in 6 years. They stole a 400 pound safe out of his back closet with a two wheeler. There were two other trucks broken into. These guys were pros. The friend is my State Farm agent. I have been putting in at Goat for many years. This is the first break in. Having an alarm and other repairs this week.

Sorry to hear about your mis-fortune. Seems as though these days you cant leave anything of any value locked in a vehicle. A good friend had his truck broken into in a similar fashion in the middle of the afternoon in the parking lot at BassPro in Springfield a couple of years ago. BTW – A new fender has definitely turned out to be less expensive than a repair. Quite reasonable in fact… if it werent for the high cost of shipping.
