Need advice with Engine problem

It sounds like a fuel supply issue as there is an ongoing loss when they engine runs more, and if it settles the engine seems to run well again.

Took it to a Merc repair place.While we were on the lake we checked the fuel pressure and it was OK. Changed the Plugs, no difference. Even pulled each plug wire to see if any thing changed. Nothing seemed to affect the loss of power. Most of the time we were unable to get the boat on plane with both of us in it. Has anyone had to change the Throttle Position Sensor or the MAP sensor? Also has anyone ever used an ECM from Brucato in North Carolina?

sounds like a fuel supply issueA fuel supply issue does not necessarily mean engine related. It could be fuel pickup in the tank, bad bulb, fuel line, obstruction in a connector, trash inthe tank (likely) and a few other issues. Especially when it has hole shot fresh and it declines later.

OK Im not trying to be a pain, just tryin to understand your theoryWe had a fuel pressure gauge hooked up to the engine and took it on the lake with the gauge attached.We monitored the pressure while we were trying to get the boat on plane and were having the issue.There was no drop in fuel pressure at anytime according to the fuel pressure gauge while we were attempting to get on plane.If it is a fuel supply issue shouldnt the fuel pressure gauge had registered a drop in pressure at some point?

Yes, in that case its hold have, though did you run it through the gauge till the condition developed.

I agree that we did not see what the pressure was before it was acting up, so that would be something else to check.Is the fuel pickup somewhere that has easy access?Under the drivers seat there appears to be something that can be opened.If there is “trash” in the tank, how would you find/remove it?Thanks

One easy way to check if it is fuel supply issue in the boat would be to temporary a portable fuel tank on the boat to see if condition goes away. Might be a heat soak issue with some electrical component inside the cowling. Is it something that started with warmer weather?

No this is something that I have been fighting for awhile. ( probably mid Feb ).I had the engine serviced in March hoping that would cure it but it didnt.The local Merc shop has had the boat several times since without being able to find the root cause.I live on a small lake in NC and I have just been putting up with it because I could eventually get it on plane if I was by myselfIt just seems to be getting worse and I would like to get it resolved
