Need some input/advise.. Lowrance HDS7 Gen2 or Elite7 Hdi

Guys money is tight but I have got to get a Color GPS on the boat. Right now I have a HB570di. Looking at going to Lowrance. Elite 7Hdi looks really interesting and is priced closer to my range. HDS7 Gen1 is older and priced close to my range but will be a used unit. HDS7 Gen2 is newer but I cannot hardly justify the cost. I made the mistake of buying something that I thought would be "Enough" in the HB570DI. It is great but the B&W screen is hard to see in the sun and I have no GPS, which I did not think I would want. Lowrance seems like they have a lot of "add-on" stuff. That can be a plus or minus. HDS7 Gen 2 $900 with insight mappingElite7 Hdi Gold Combo $675 with Navionics Gold95% of my fishing will be on Ky lake either general fishing or learning those ledges! $900 could lead to divorce so Structure scan could/would not happen for years so not an option that I worry about yet.Whats your Opinions????

The HDS-7 is an excellent unit, but the bundle (with SS) will cost $1300.00+ less any rebates when offered. Not much use without it. Touch units are no bargain either. Id definitely recommend the HDI-7 if it fits your budget. Excellent unit. DI and 2D sonar from one transducer, Built-in GPS, and full mapping. I doubt youll be disappointed.

The 7HDI is what Ive decided to put on the bow as well, once I can save up some doe. Unfortunately the console graph needs replacing first, so look like the 7s little brother the 5HDI will be going in first.Ive always been one to buy middle of the road products, I dont like or want the cheapest out there, but cant afford the expensive stuff… Ive always been satisfied buying products down the middle… lol And the Elite series HDI models seem to be just that.13 PIV w/ 200 MercIG: WarriorRiverCustomRods

i think the Elite 7 HDI is a great buy.
