Need to Modify Boat Cover 2001 Classic Dc

I had to re power my 01 Classic from an 01 200efi to a 2015 2oo pro xs. I bought a really good cover when i bought the boat. The cover is one piece and goes over the engine. I got it out to use it for a trip and it wont fit over the sides on the back and the straps are too short. The pro xs has a bigger hood. Any one know if it can be modified to fit? Thanks
