Need To Vent – Long

What has happened to BC QC? Admittedly, some of what Im going to mention is on the dealer and some on Bass Cat. First off, I have been a BC fan ever since I bought my new 92 P2 from Greene Boat and Motors. I never had any issues with that boat and served me well for 26 years. My only complaint was there was no storage behind the seat. Finally, this year I decided to get a new boat and my only choice was another BC. I loved the layout of the new Caracal with the passenger rod storage AND 2 storage bins behind the seats. I found a dealer that had a new Caracal in stock with the Yamaha SHO so I made the deal and had him add Power Poles since BC had the BOGO promotion at the time. The dealer is 440 miles from me but so was Greenes so no problem. So my buddy and I make the trip to get my new boat and also take my 92 down because the dealer agreed to sell my 92 for me. We get to the dealers and going over the boat and I lifted the storage bin lid behind the passenger seat to show him all the storage he will have and WTF, the dealer put the power pole pumps in the removable bin! Since I never had power poles before I didnt say anything thinking maybe thats where they are supposed to go. However, after I got home I read in the BC brochure on page 18 that the pumps are supposed to go under the bin. Others said they placed them near the battery since the SHO is a 4 stroke and there is no oil reservoir. Apparently the dealer just put them where it was easiest for him. Anyway, we hook the new boat up and start the drive home. As soon as I get on the interstate and get over 60 MPH the boat starts fishtailing. In fact, it fishtailed so bad it activated the sway/slippery road control on my truck. So we drive 440 miles not going over 60 MPH. When we finally get home we are going thru the boat and find that the stern anchor light and the rear seat post are both missing. I call the dealer and he agrees to mail me both. A week later we get the seat post and finally get the boat in the water. After fishing a couple of hours we decide to move, I start the engine but the boat will not get on plane. At the same time we look down and there is water coming up out of the floor drains!! The back is completely full of water even the live wells! Fortunatlly, the bilge pumps worked....the boat leaks! We fished a couple of hours more and I set the bilge pumps on auto and they would come on every 20-30 minutes. After I got home I noticed water leaking around the fitting that the plug screws into. I took the fitting off and could see gaps in the sealant so I resealed it with silicone. Took the boat out yesterday and that solved 95% of the leaking problem, still have a slight leak, about a pint an hour. I suspect it may be the intakes based on the sloppy sealant job seen the photo. You can also see the gaps in the drain plug fitting sealant in the photo. I also discovered yesterday that the motor will not rev over 4400 rpm....Ive no idea what that issue is, maybe something with the hotfoot? Also, last evening as it was getting dark I tried to turn on the light on the port side near the front of the boat and, no surprise, it doesnt work either! No huge deal except the dealer is 440 miles away which I guess is my fault. One final thing, the MinnKota trolling motor vibrates a lot, at all speeds but violently at high speeds. So thats my long vent. Trailer fishtails, boat leaks, missing parts, power pole pumps in wrong place, light switch doesnt work, motor wont rev, TM vibrates..... I feel like I bought a 1970 AMC with all these issues! On the plus side I love the rough water ride of this new Caracal.
