new 4 blade prop

Try the Yamaha 3 blade T-1 24″ inch pitch, Yamaha did a test with the SHO 225 on a Caracal, the prop turns 5800 and speed is 70-72 depending on setup, I have a 2018 Caracal with the SHO and that’s how I am running. You can get the test from Yamaha’s website. Note: the Caracal is not a speed demon, it takes a long time to get to 70+, trim and jack plate setting are important. Where the Caracal shine’s is its ride especially in big water. Hope this helps.

Bassinman2, thanks for the info.  Mainly want a 4 blade to help get on plane. When I have the live wells full I can’t get on plane. Also, I’m only able to get about 5200 RPM now.

I had a 225 SHO on my 2015 Caracal and it was a pig out of the hole with the stock 3 blade and full livewells, gas (belly and rear tank) and passenger.  I bought a croxton 4 blade and it made a huge difference.  I’m thinking of selling it as I don’t see much difference with it on my current G2.

I know that this sounds like big drop but you might want to look into the 22pitch 4 blade. The T-1 prop design lifts the whole boat so your take off is smooth and quick. You will be able to ride the big waves with ease.
