I am going to raise the motor a little at a time. I was told I should have a rooster tail about the height of the motor. Also should have a little torque steer. What will that feel like?
If there is a large tail lower it if there is no tail raise it a tad. If your steering is hard to turn on top end you are too high.

Thank you so much, now I really do feel like an idiot. I was sitting in the garage for 30 minutes trying to figure out how to switch the tanks on the super dash.
There are dual gauges in a BP-101 dash. The tanks are not switched electrically as you know now. You can always search for an answer using the “Search” feature at the top of the page. Or you can also check the FAQ section and still run a “Search” there as well. Dont ever hesitate to ask and dont feel like an idiot. BCB
Hello, I have been a Bass Cat owner for a short couple of months now and finally decided to sign up, you guys are having to much fun! Here is a picture of my 2008 P4 at Lake Amistad, Texas last week. I love the boat and all the new friends I have made since I bought it. Thanks for looking!
I have always pre mixed my oil. I do not see a down side to it at all. Especially when the warranty runs out, i would do it. If it is pre mixed, if it is getting fuel it is gettin oil. That is the way i look ate it. I dont know if you can even do this on newer engines, but on my last EFI it did fine.
The advantages probably far out-weigh the disadvantages. The disadvantages I can think of are: (1) you will use more oil than having it injected, (2) if you run slow a lot, you will foul spark plugs easier due to using more oil at slow speeds. If these are the only “problems” you have it is well worth the problems over a blown engine.Welcome to the Bass Cat family!
50:1 is standard, I mixed in my last boat and ran 40:1 to protect engine. Never had a problem with fouling but did not idle around a long time.
I would just continue to Mix it 50:1 and use a Newer design in Evinrude Oil, XD-100 (100% Synthetic) or XD-50 (semi Synthetic), the xd100 is ashless, carbonless, and will hardly smoke, the xd50 has a carbon elimnator product called carb x in it, the reason I dont like to use XD30 or XD25, the Red Evinrude oil most use in the older 2 strokes, is it produces power robbing carbon, most dont De-carb yearly, much less ever, which is a $6 dolllar process. So since most of us are busy, and the motor is new on the inside, and should be broken in by now, id go to a Evinrude retailer, buy a gallon of XD100 about $40 in bulk, try to find a dealer that mainly sells Evinrude. ALSO, if you dont want to spend 40 a gallon on insanely good oil, go to Walmart, they sell Pennzoil 100% synthetic Marine 2 stroke oil, it is good, not as good as the XD100, but way better than normal oil. Also, run a good grade of gas, that motor can run hotter fuel, use a Stabil marine additive, it will remove ethanol and keep that fuel fresh, were normal fuel gets funky pretty quick, and that kills carbed or fuel injected motors, if you use super good oil, clean gas, and do normal maintenance on the thermostats, flush out motor, grease, and impeller as needed, that big motor will run just as long as a 60. Any questions you can instant message me on my profile, oh that year of V6 is awesome, great motor. Brannon
pastorbb73, You have a learning curve ahead of you with your first big boat. Just take your time and work into it. The oil injection on those older OMC engines can and does fail. We too would mix it, though we would mix more like the 40:1 that was mentioned. BCB
Well The only mistake I see you made was simple, NO PICS DUDE!!!!! What is powering your 93? The best part of buying a used BCB is right here, pumps, wiring, gauges, restoring, and trailer, all of those questions and items that come up faulty can be fixed effinciently and using Factory Parts, not Guessed parts from Overtons or wherever, very lucky…….Lets get some pics up for us Pic Freaks, and let us know whats powering your beast and let the questions Fly……..Brannon
Congratulations! You bought one of the best boats ever made. Need pics and specs (prop, etc) to make recommendations. You will have lots of fun with your boat. Memories are more valuable than gold. You will never regret buying a Bass Cat.Tim
Welcome to the Family, I was the guy who took TMAC2 fishing and all it took was one Lake Falcon Swamp Donkey to have him hooked on bass fishing, You will love your Basscat and the memories you and your family will make with it. Congrats!
