I bought three new batteries yesterday at OReilly Auto Parts. They are 31 series deep cycle with 1000 CCA, and MAINTENANCE FREE!!, 18 month free replacement and 36 month warranty for $80 a piece. I thought that was pretty good. Hopefully they will last me a while.Last edited by basscat357 on November 22nd, 2008, 8:02 pm, edited 2 times in total.
The warranty is good and OReilly will stand behind them. We are not sure the quality as they have a few different companies make their batteries. They should last the average angler if they keep them charged and full of water. We do still suggest the larger batteries and AGM style for serious fishing. BCB
AGM is the way to go if you can afford them. I had gotten Auto Zone batt. (their largest and best) and they didnt even last a year. One keept going down before the other and Auto Zone wouldnt warranty them (tried three times). Got Cabelas (researched on the internet) AGM and what a difference these make for on the water time. The wet cells couldnt go 8 hours w/o getting really weak at the end of the day. The new AGM show 80% left at the end of the day and no diff. in power. Just replaced the starter batter with an Optima-will see which one last the longest. Just my 2 cents.
I talked to the manager at an Interstate store earlier in the week, he was convinced that the Odessey (?) trolling batts were pretty strong, backed with a 4 year warranty.
I have the Diehard platinum 31s in my P4. Have only had them a few months, but they have been great so far. They are heavy and $$, but most good batteries are. They fit fine in the aluminum trays as well.
