New boat accessory question

Electronics are wired with their own harness directly to the starting battery.

I wanted a Motorguide tour pro on mine which wasn’t available at the build time. So I just requested that they shipped the minnkota uninstalled in the box. Everything for a proper install was included, yes under deck plates.

The non premium boats are not wired on their own harness. They are tied into the main wiring harness of the boat.  It is a good idea, if a non premium boat, to direct wire on their own circuit. That can avoid voltage issues down the road.  You can do it your self quite easily with the harness offered in the store, or, make one.

Sorry I didn’t think of the non premium models. But since you are ordering the boat new, I think BassCat can install one at the factory or dealership for you? It’s worth asking the question.

I performed this to my p2 a couple yrs or so back. This takes some wiring knowledge to do. If your having the boat built get Bcb to place the wiring for you. But to answer your question. 6 gauge from battery to a terminal block(i changed this to a custom made buss bar) then 10 gauge to the bow. If yor going to add multiple units on the bow here is where i would add a terminal block.

I am just doing single at bow because once I started using Livescope, I found no need for the second unit.

If you mount your gls10 in front of the console inside the locker( i did) the gls10 power wire will go to the terminal block. If BCB  prewired the updated wire which i highy recommend. Then the graph power wires would be at the bow. Though even if you dont upgrade the wire these wires would be there anyway. Though those wires are wired in the boat harness. The updated wire is much much better IMO

Question. Since the boats already come with that switch/breaker thing, will one have two when adding that cable?

I added a extra 25 amp breaker when i added tbe upgraded wire. If Bcb does the upgraded wire at the factory i would think they would add the extra breaker. Though i would ask Bcb on this. Some add the breaker some dont

I figured out you can buy just the cable. I’ll do that, and have my dealer install, as I am using two of the units from the old boat.
