How many of you folks pulling with a Tundra. Patti & I switched from a GMC and really loving this Tundra Double Cab Limited.Added a Bed Rug…The flood light on the rack lights up the boat when youre getting it ready in the morning or late at night.
Excellent vehicle. I tow with an old 99 Dodge Cummins but also own a 05 Tacoma. My buddy who runs a circuit out here tows his 25 foot derby trailer with zero issues. His dad retired as a sales rep and would consistently put 200 to 250 thousand miles on his Tacomas and Tundras and had ZERO issues. Congrats on your new ride.
very cool! Ive looked real hard at them, but havent made that change yet.13 PIV w/ 200 MercIG: WarriorRiverCustomRods
I pull my Cougar with a 2012 Tundra Crewmax. It doesnt know the boat is back there. I get about 10 MPG towing. Thats the only knock on Tundras, they have never been known for getting great gas mileage. The only problem with the camper shell is loading and unloading in the winter time by yourself. I launch at a few ramps that requires my back tires to be in the water and it since I have an ARE topper it gets a little tricky keeping your feet dry. I built a 4 2X6 that sits about 5″ tall and use it as a walkway if required. A man has to do what a man has to do.
Ive had the truck about 6 weeks and the average MPG is 15.6 which includes both normal driving and towing. So far about 1.5 MPG improvement over my last GMC. The tow/haul mode is great and so much different than the past GMs. Also really like the 38 gallon fuel tank. Truck takes off like a rocket when passing.
I ordered one just like yours. It should be in any day now. I currently have a 2014 Tundra and it is by far the best non diesel I have ever towed with.
Sorry to see you went to the dark side Gary!
I tow my Sabre with a 2013 Crewmax Limited. The truck is a complete beast. Pulls a lot better than my 5.0 F150. So far I like mine a lot. Nice looking truck man.
I dont own one. Though when I purchase another truck. Definitly will be the tundra. Couple of guys I work with own these. They tow regular. They love the truck. They to say they get 15+ mpg. When towing. Plus they both say the truck has plenty of power.2013 PANTERA 2MERCURY 200 PRO XSMINNKOTA 80LB FORTREX25 fury
my brother-in-law had a first gen tundra and I was not so impressed. It was way too soft and did not feel very precise in steering. I tow my classic with a tacoma double cab 4.0 and it tows better than anything I have owned, including a v8 dodge and a similar chevy.2008 Pantera Classic2014 Mercury Pro XS 200
