Made the move from a Bug to a Cat, proud owner of a 2012 Jaguar and loving this boat! A little confused by the tank configuration, I have two tanks in the rear and one located in the center behind the console. The panel is labeled right & left, and the control knob aft is labeled right & left as well. As best I can tell, there is not a fuel sender on both rear tanks, and today the motor died mid lake. Switched tanks, primed the bulb and was up and running again. When I stopped on the way home to refuel, it seemed that one of the side tanks was indeed empty, but the other only took about 5 gallons. So I am now wondering why the engine shut down? Sure its a simple thing, but would love an answer from someone.Second issue I am sure is just learning the boat. The boat jumps out of the hole really quickly and the boat rides really level compared to what I am used to. I am trimming it gently and see improved performance, but sometimes the boat feels like it is sliding sideways when hitting a small wave. The boat also leans into turns a bit more than I am used to. Reading others comments on the board I hear folks referring to their boats sliding into turns. Is that the norm?Sorry for the long comments, just trying to find my way with the new ride.Tom
http://basscatowners.yuku.com/topic/214 … xplanationWe are not sure what you are experiencing, though it should not be sliding. This sounds like engine height, though we are not sure.
Last year I always got confused on my tanks. I now remember them as Left = Large… and… Right = Reserve
Thanks – it has a hydraulic jack plate on it and it is currently up about 1-3/4″. Going to drop it down all the way and see what it does.
The two saddle tanks should be draining down at the same time, and should have close to the same amount of feul in each, so not sure but you may have an issue there. As for the labeling, The sender for the rear (saddle tanks) is only on one of the tanks, another reasonas to why they drain down together. The main tank under the seat also has a sender. Yes the tank selector on the dash is only for fuel readings Left is main or the the under seat tank, right is rrear or the saddle tanks. Esy way to rememebr the seletor valve in the back is the arrow is pointing at the tank(s) you wish to use. Left points fwd (towards the main tank) Right points to the side of the boat (saddle tanks). Yes id agree with coming down on the JP.
