That 26 Fury will do a great job on your new Puma. It is a great propeller and we doubt many have run it on the 2215 Pro XS engines yet. The engines was out, and thus most had a Trophy back then as the Fury was not available. You did well on the 225 Pro XS and the combo should run just fine. BCB

Maybe! Depends on the load you carry and your driving abilities. It also depends on what youre looking for in performance……………holeshot or top end speed. A 26 is what most are running on a 250 set up. Will run up to 80+ on 250 but the rpms are likely to touch the rev limiter and beyond this time of year. Wish mine was a 27. I actuallly sent my Fury off this morning to have some work done to it for the reason listed. My guess is you might be able to turn it approximately 56-5700. Top end speed if you can get those rpms will be in the mid 70 range as long as those arent slip rpms. Shorter on the rpms you are, the shorter on top end speed youll be. Holeshot, will be OK more than likely. Try it and see what happens.

Sounds good. I dont carry as much tackle as most tourney guys I know. My team partner weighs about 150 lbs. soakin wet. Ordered the single console only for space and less weight, as well as the dual aux. fuel tanks so I wont have to top off the underseat tank. Average hole shot works for me…optimum top end preferred. Would be tickled if this rig will run 72 loaded with a partner and livewells full with 25 gallons of fuel. Thanks for the info to all…see you at Rayburn Phil.

My friend runs a 26 fury on his puma 225 pro xs. He had a 26 trophy. The fury outperforms the trophy on his rig, especially hole-shot.

Your not going to see that in warmer weather from a 26 unless your rig is totally unloaded, going down stream with the wind pushing. 72 MPH out of that engine would be embarrassing. Okay Nela C., I like your input. Aim high! You are exactly like right on with the “S” boats…my other good buddy runs this “S” rig at 72-73 in 2.5 chop loaded with 2 “Lineman” size adults…not too shabby. My team partner runs a 2007 Cougar FTD with 225 and a 26 Tempest and top speed loaded with us both (with Detwiler) is 72.2. He ordered his initially with the 25 Tempest and topped out light at 70.5 and was all over the rev limiter with motor all the way down! My instinct tells me to go with the 26 Fury since it is a lighter prop, but, my dealer said hed swap out if I didnt like the pitch. Ill also run my partners 26 Tempest on my rig to compare……..just dont like spending a fortune on a new boat and not having it propped out right. I do appreciate your $.02 but to me, a boat that weighs in at 1800 lbs. dry with a 225 on the back of it would be doing well to get 72 fully loaded….be better if I could get 72 out of her in the same 2.5 chop that my buddys “S” boat gets. After all the input here from you guys…looks like I am back to square one scratching my head wondering which prop I should have ordered…..guess Ill just have to find out when my boat gets here………(hopefully not next year).

Phil ran his 26p Fury on my Cougar AE this fall while it was still hot and it ran great,,,,so you should be good as a year round prop. The 26 is what i will buy when i get around to it, and it makes the 225 Pro XS come to life. It sounds different, drives different, etc,,,,all better than the Trophy, imho. D.
