New LYNX STS

First, I'd like to congratulate BCB on introducing another beautiful model to the lineup. I think it is a good thing that they have been listening and introduced a model with a more traditional storage layout that will appeal to those that have wanted to move to a Bass Cat but couldn't get over the storage layouts of their traditional models. I really like the upgrades including the new tool holder, day box in front of the console and access to electrical under the day box. The Large center storage area looks very well thought out. In the videos I have watched, I did not see anyone open the seats for the under-seat storage, I'm assuming that remains? Last but certainly not least, there was mention of the LYNX STS being a little lighter on the bow than the PUMA STS. This can only help performance so if anyone has any information on how it runs compared to the Puma I'd like to hear that. 100 pounds on the bow sounds like a couple MPH to me. That would be wonderful coming from an Eyra for the last 12 years. I've now been in a BCB for 25 years and counting! I'm starting to piece together info for my next model which should be happening in the next Year or so. Looks like the Model will be a big Success for BCB. Chris Coupel

There was a statement of it being lighter, though that will not be the case. The box does lose the center net scabbard, and one twist latch, though it’s incremental as the materials to secure bottom of the box below will eat that up. In the end, it will not be lighter. And the layout will produce more weight by the user loading, or overloading, the bow with storage boxes.

Thank you for the response. That makes sense. That big box will get loaded down and off set any weight savings if there are any.

Top end speed is essentially the same as a Puma STS. I spent several hours doing demo rides at the classic in the Lynx STS and I couldn’t tell any difference in it than a Puma in any aspect. The Mercury powered Lynx STS was a good solid 1-2 mph than the Yamaha powered Lynx STS.

Hey Phil. I’m tall and need the deep cockpit of the old Lynx. Is the cockpit design similar?

different than the old Lynx. Same as the Puma STS and plenty of room for most behind the wheel. Find a Puma STS to sit behind the console and that will answer your question.

The consoles in the 2024 and newer models offer more legroom than previous model years. I’m 6’5” and about 250 with long legs. 2023 puma sts was tighter fit than I liked. The 2024 model has plenty of legroom with the newer style consoles!
