New MK

Basically a hybrid, with all the features of the Terrova, but with cable steering and Fortrex mount. Sounds like they have been listening to what bass fishermen want. Should be interesting when it gets unveiled at Icast this week.http://www.minnkotamotors.com/Who-We...at-ICAST-2016/

We will have the prototype motor on display at the “Excellence In Action 2017” dealer meeting. We did not know it was public yet though is scheduled to debut at ICAST. It is a hybrid of the Terrova iPilot models and has cable steering with same dimension foot pedal. Button placement and operation buttons are moved from the normal ForTrexx. It is labeled as the answer to both with speed of steering that keeps up with the direction you turn.

I was playing with the Ultrex today at Icast. The electronically assisted cable steering is so much easier than my Fortex. They were set up opposite each other in the tank so you could test them against water resistance. MK said that they got input from the various boat companies on well size, and promised the foot pedal would fit in a Cat. Although I didnt actually measure, the width looked the same as the Fortrex pedal in the identical wells, and the length about the same, or even shorter.

Guys we will have this motor on display at the public showing in thirteen days on the 2095 BTX Yar-Craft. I managed to play with it today at ICAST and the we have spent a lot of time on the system and how it operates. Of course with iPilot we know plenty about its operation with our Yar-Craft brand. The motor is cable and motor drive which made it respond to the foot and there is back feed resistance. It requires two receivers to find a lock in spot lock and direction. We know it will definitely weigh more and probably take an estimated 3-4 MPH off whatever it is mounted on. For most it is not necessary. For those open water anglers it will be a very nice tool in the arsenal. Rick
