New Owner Live-well Problems

Hey guys! Just recently purchased a 2022 cougar ftd. I’m a new to the boat world so pardon my arrogance! The live wells on my cougar keep filling with 10-12 inches of water. Without me pumping any water in. This has only occurred when I’ve had my boat docked over night. What could the issue be? Thank you all!

It is either the cable slipping on the rear cable J clamp that holds it, located on the actual livewell valve. This is easily seen by turning the handle and watching it move.

Or the valve itself is bad and requires either a valve or flapper.

Be sure you are turning the 1/4” beyond the detent in the handle.
