Topic: night stalker light kit

Has anyone installed the kit that is sold by basscat and if so how hard was it? I assume that you pull the center out of the rubrail in order to mount the lights however, how are the wires run, where are you making the hole to slide the wires into the boat, and getting electric for the lights. I am assuming that I could put the rocker switch on the bow near where the current bow light switch is at and either get power from the wires coming up from the back or run wiring to the rear via fish tape. All help is appreciated.

It wasn’t hard, just think it thru before going nuts on it.

Should be no problem on the bow switch. I went console but it shouldn’t matter. I pulled power from under the console.

The wires ran behind the rub rail and I came in by drilling a hole that came into the side compartments. Then ran it to the console

Ricochet15 that is a great post regarding the install. Thanks much, I did review what you wrote and I believe it will be a great help. Now I have to decide if I am going to do 6 lights or 8. Most of the time I fish by myself so I don’t want to over do it too much. Again, much thanks.

Not discouraging you on the 8 per side they work great. Inside the rubrail gets really full with that many wires. So something to think about. It can be done just took some extra effort to make it all fit. I usually fish 2 people so I went more and I’m happy with it. Hope this helps.

Not to deter anyone from using that system , but , I much prefer the stick-on L.E.D. strip you can get online . – Much brighter , and much less expense . — 25 bucks for a 20 foot strip . – Sticks REAL GOOD TOO !! – Going on 3 years now , and still works great . – Hoss
