I went out in my new 2013 Eyra today 250 Pro XS with the genII Torque Master LU 26 Fury prop no plugs installed. It has the hand throttle and so far Its gotta go. It is loaded with all my trash plus me. here goes, mash down on the throttle….. hesitation then goes, decent hole shot once it takes off then blows the prop out when it breaks over. It is set at 1/8″ below flush. If Im not in the throttle or above 45mph it plows the nose, this is with about 60 percent trim. Above that speed it runs like a raped ape but damn that thing eats gas. 2.6 hours of break in time equals about 35 gallons of gas and half a tank of oil. It seems as if it has no lift at lower speeds. BrianBrianHAWG Hunter2013 BassCat Eyra2013 Mercury 250 Pro XS Gen2 L/U
Looks like u need to put lugs in. My raker 2 doesnt do good at lower speeds, proposes a lot , better over 45! And lower that plate more
Depends? Well, depends on many things. Some just dont like avFury on the Eyra, a few opted for either the Tempest or Bravo series.
Sounds like its loaded very heavy up front and the motor is too high
If you decide to get rid of the Fury shoot me a price I am looking for another.
When I was toying with setup I did all kinds of different things. One was I put about 40 lbs in front compartments just to see how it would handle. What you described sounds like how mine handled.
I didnt buy a 20 Eyra with a 250 to haul less than my PII with a 200 ETECH H.O.!!! That thing is awesome from the time you hit the throttle until its wound out and carried what the Eyra is loaded with on plane down to 19 mph. BrianBrianHAWG Hunter2013 BassCat Eyra2013 Mercury 250 Pro XS Gen2 L/U
Pops77,You will find an Eyra solution. Your conflicted with a great PII/200 Etec pedal to the metal experience with anticipated expectations with your Erya. You will get there and love the Eyra/Merc experience. If there is one thing from my previous BassCat ownership experiences going from different models is there are differences that require some seat time. IMO you will not have to change out your tackle. Boat setup carrying your tackle with any 250 HP motor yes. What you will have to do is get little more info from the community Eyra owners with your setup plus added BassCat support to dial in your Eyra. Your in good hands with that Eyra. I have had both 200 and 250 motors on my Eyra and both were fast out of the whole all the way to 6000 plus rpms. You will too. Hang in there and good luck! Expectations are dangerous. Hey Fly, How ya doing? I dont have to many expectations that comment was because of the earlier comment on I must be loaded very front heavy when Im carrying the same exact load as my PII to include electronics and trolling motor. I have the 25 Trophy Plus on that rig. I was just stating the obvious that the 26 Fury doesnt have the lift at 45 mph, and that is what I was disapointed in. The hole shot is good, but I think I need an exhaust vent plug or two, when it blows out it is for maybe a second then catches back up, according to BassCat that is not a bad thing. It accelorates good but as soon as I retard the throttle to about 45 mph you can really feel the drag and see the obvious spray from the sides as if you were trimmed down. I have only put 3.6 hours on the motor so it isnt even broke in yet but Ill get there soon. The ride is nice but will be much better and faster once I have the prop issue figured out. Yes there are a lot of differences between the black and the blue motors, if my experiences with this black motor are as good as it has been with the blue one I will be very happy. How about you try a 26″ Tempest?
