I had thought about actually entering. But I have gotten used to what my son and I call “laid-back fishing”. Fish when we want, get out of the hot sun during the middle of the day, etc.When you see a classic that is white everywhere except for the cap insert and sides, thatll be us. Beware of dog. (buff-colored Cocker Spaniel). Will mooch food all day. If you blink, he will steal a fish in a heartbeat too. He has adopted the area under the flipping deck extension as his private “get out of the sun” house. Right now just hoping this bearing assembly shows up. Wont take 30 minutes to get under way once it arrives, will have old assembly off waiting on package to arrive.Only down-side of this event is that there wont be any Rangers, Tritons, Nitros or Skeeters to pass. Getting worse and worse. Might not get up there until noon on Saturday or so. Apparently post office misplaced my wheel bearing assembly for a day. Got it on monday, scanned it in and out TODAY at the origin facility. expected delivery is Friday, but it might be 3-4pm before they get it to me. Am going to ask if I can pick it up myself Friday morning when they open. They are usually completely non-cooperative however…2008 Pantera Classic2014 Mercury Pro XS 200

I am going to have to visit the cemetery where my mom/dad are buried. I KNOW he must be turning over in his grave after today. Recap: Ordered a bearing for my truck on monday morning. Guy in NJ assembled it and printed a USPS shipping label the same day and notified the post office to pick it up Tuesday AM. Someone forgot. Picked it up Wednesday morning. Scheduled for home delivery tomorrow, where my mail delivery person normally gets to my house about 3pm to 4pm. I called the local postmaster and asked “since the package is being delivered to your post office, and your delivery person will bring it to my house on his normal route, can you please hold the package at the PO and let me pick it up first thing in the morning?” Seemed reasonable enough. Postmaster told me to go online and fill out an “intercept” request. I did. It is costing me $12.95 to have the local post office NOT give the package to the carrier for delivery, and instead hold it for me for pickup at 8am.13 bucks to do LESS work. Been trying to get the bearing here soon enough that I can put it in (less than an hours work) and get to Guntersville to at least watch the festivities. I fully expect to arrive at the post office in the morning to be told “that package is out for delivery by your regular route person.” I also fully expect to find a $13 dollar charge on my Visa. And I further expect that the package will be misplaced or mis-delivered and I will spend half the day hunting. I also fully expect that it will be necessary to surgically remove it from someones rear end when I finally locate it, further delaying my trip to G. My dad was a postmaster for 25 years. He got such requests so many time. either (a) will you hold for pickup? or (b) will you forward it to where I will be when it arrives? Always did so and never charged for it. Probably will need to re-cover his grave tomorrow morning early. We have so much mis-delivered mail in our area, and then they charge me $13 bucks to not deliver a package.
