On Deck Tool Storage – Cougar

Im looking for clever ideas for holding my pliers, scissors, etc for easy access while fishing but secure when running.i dont typically use my pedestal seats so that not an option.Suggestions or pictures welcome!

I use one of these. It suction cups to a flat (out of the wind when running) spot. I keep pliers, sunscreen, scissors, etc. in mine. You cannot overload it or the suction cups will slide. I have used the one I have for several years now.http://www.davisnet.com/marine/products … ?grp=m14-2

I run a Sabre. I stick the mesh bag just under the deck extension on the left side. You just need a flat vertical surface a little bigger than the mesh bag. You do have to step down off the deck to access it. But it is worth it to have all the tools in the same spot each time I need them. Nothing worse than looking for the pliers when the school is up!

Ive been looking for something upfront myself for quite a while. My old PII had a plastic holder for tools that worked perfect. I cant find it anymore. It would be nice to reach down in front and grab pliers or lures and not scratch boat up.

Rapala tool kit with pliers, scissors, and belt clip holster. The belt clip holster zip ties to a front pedestal very easily and has a Velcro fastened strap to hold it all in place when youre running. They also make a pedestal nylon tool holder for $10.50. I bought the whole kit from Gander Mtn. for $19.00. I mounted the Rapala tool holder that 1stinLA provided the link for, in my Cougar, on the face of the step (front of the storage compartment) between the consoles. Works great. Used the 3M tape it came with.
