Thats the way its suppose to work. Auto brings water in to a certain level, empty lets it out and not in. So to not let water in you have to set it at empty.

Clint, It usually comes from backing the boat off the trailer (forcing water passed the valve) especially with shallow ramps, and even backing the boat into the water-if done at a fairly quick pace and a well used valve. John

Man, you guys are all over it….even asked the dealer and they were baffled. So, If I leave it on “Empty”….no water will get in the livewells unless I switch it to “Auto” and/or turn on the Aerator. My last boat had “Open” and “Closed”…open let water in and out…and closed kept water in and out. Guess Ive nothing to complain about on my new boat….and just to throw in a “plug”, my new Puma will flat out roar through 2 to 3 foot chop…no more looking at my buddys rooster tail behind his Skeeter…glad to hear him finally stop laughing. Cant say enough how impressed I am with this BassCat…I have actually tried to get wet in this rig but cant do it…..would have to go through a wave to see water in this boat. I have ridden in just about everything but a Ranger Z520…this is the best overall performing boat I have set foot in!

Clint, If you leave it on empty you should not get any water in the wells, except a small amount from what I described above and (I mean small amount). Im —l retentive so when I get home I dry the wells and the bilge with a shammy or small towel. Gotta keep her lookin good! John

If you have it on anything except empty water will get into the wells. If it is on Empty there should be no water leakage. BCB
