Owner's Board

ONE YEAR LATER

One year later and attorneys fees Foremost insurance pays off on my claim. I have found out if you lie to the insurance company they will pay . Tell them what caused the crack in the hull and they don't won't to pay. I sat my 2010 puma down on a stump in Sam Rayburn latter part of October 2017. Late Feb 2018 a small crack was found at the transom . Ins payed to repair and fix small gel coat chips. Foremost told the repair shop to spray the bottom to make color match.August 2018 a crack 8ft long from the stump impact area to the repaired spot showed up. Foremost said they don't pay for the same repairs twice without even looking at the boat.Took the boat to Bass Cat and Foremost sent a surveyor to look at my boat . He tried to lay all problems back on repairs, that had never been made and were not listed  in the first repair bill.THE AMOUNT OF TIME IT TOOK MY CAT TO START TO COME APART IS A TESTAMENT TO BCB QUALITY BUT THAT QUALITY CAN BE A PAIN WHEN DEALING WITH INSURANCE . I learned this much . Never let the repair shop handle a claim over the phone, demand that a adjuster look at the problem so that there will be a record to fall back on if other problems show up.I could have claimed I hit another stump and all would have been fine but I was not raised to lie to get what I thought was owed to me.If the insurance company sends a surveyor to inspect your boat he will lie to you to keep them from paying for repairs.
