Pantera-II III IV OR CLASSIC?

New or used,what would be your choice and why?

New PII for me, the places I fish it fits my needs perfectly. Speed, good ride, and a great fishing layout. If I fished bigger water then the PIV would be my personal choice for the rough water ride and stability.

I currently have a 2002 classic that I bought used. I love this boat, but I would like to have a newer P2 just for the increased storage and deck layout. I would love to have a new boat if I could afford it. This is all a preference and financial decision. I think the classic and P2 are the best from a financial standpoint. my choice would be the PIV out of the choices and I have owned a PIII as well. The PIV in my opinion is a smaller version of the Puma, which gives you everything you could need, storage, good ride in rough water, decent speed, ect.. Now the only thing you give up is the speed, my PIII would haul. Mine is currently for sale just b/c I want to upgrade to a Puma with a 250 pro Xs

I bought a used PIII 6 months ago and love it,however im trying to find the correct set up.Prop and engine height.How did you have your P3 set up?Ive tried both a 25p trophy and tempest

I was running a 25 temp on a Mariner 200 opti, I cant tell you were it was set up on the jackplate b/c i cant remember, It seems I was getting close to mid 70s with a decent hole shot. I loved my PIII and wish I still had that payment

If you can find a good used P-III then that would be an excellent purchase. I really liked the way that boat looked and handled as well. It was just a little slower than the Classic but did everything else better. Of the new models out I would have to go with the P-II. Almost all of the speed and agility of the Classic with the extra deck and storage space. A new P-II with a 200 OPTI would be a very hard total package to beat in the 19 class. The P-IV is the ultimate 19 footer but I wouldnt want to give up the top end. I have a Classic and would not hesitate to go that route again. I love it and it can be customized to meet your needs. It is probably the fastest 19 footer on the market when properly set up and an excellent value. But, if you start optioning it up then you will very quickly be at the price of the P-II, so, that is why I say the P-II gets my vote. If you are leaning towards the used boat market, Any of the models would be great. Most important here would be to find an owner that babied thier rig and you get one in mint condition. For the right price you would not be dissapointed with any of the models you mentioned.Good luck in your search. All of the models were put out at a specific type of market and designed for different things.
