Pantera vs Puma – Do I make the step up?

I went from a Jag to a PIV to a Puma FTD, The FTD is my favorite of the 3. Its all whats going to fit your fishing needs best. If you fish little backwaters and canals the PII is the one, but if you fish big water I would sure look at the FTD, theres a reason its so popular.

Geesh I remember being where your at!. Decisions decisions!. Though I had some advantages. At the time I was in a 17ft boat. My friend had a p4 and made the swap to a puma ftd. Wat I can say is I loved his p4 and wish I had bought it. It was all the boat a person ever needed. As far as the ride it was awesome and quick. I found a p2 which was wat I always wanted. I love the p2 I purchased. And plan on keeping it . But I always loved the cougars also. And would have probably bought one but I chose a garage to go with my purchase of my p2. I would suggest getting wat you want or wat your means will let get. Personally as long as its a cat Im sure you will be happy with whichever you choose. Again patience is the game. More boat for the same money AND close by. If you have space for it I say go for it, Ive seen em in some pretty skinny water & you wont regret it if you hit the bigger stuff. Good luck.

The biggest advantage I see in that rig over the others is resale value. The PII and PIV are great boats, but there are a lot of perspective buyers that will be wanting a 20 boat with a 250. And unless you have a rock solid upper limit on what you can spend on a boat, you san sometimes get WAY more boat by spending a few thousand more. For instance, there was a PII that was a few years old that sold fast on the board. I dont want to take anything away from it, because its a great model, and the owner took great care of it, but I know of a loaded out Cougar FTD, the same year model, with the same hours, and more options, for sale at an asking price 2K higher than the PII. To me, its a no-brainer if you like the colors and the drive isnt too far. I drove from Birmingham, AL to Houston, TX to get mine and would do it again for the right deal.

you will not be disappointed w/ the Puma. my 09 was awesome. it had the same wheels that this boat has (which I still think are the best looking) on it. I upgraded a bunch of items on mine so when you buy this (and you know you will) give me a call and I can give you the run down. go get em tiger
